St Albans City’s Scott Thomas collected his player of the month award after being named top Saint during August.

Thomas has impressed during City’s fine start to the new season, starting all seven games during the month, and his form earned him the Harpenden Construction Limited award.

He was presented with his prize prior to the 4-0 win over Poole Town on Tuesday night.

Doing the honours was Michael O’Shea, owner of the Courtyard Café in Hatfield Road, the August 2016 sponsors.

The club are running a coach to Dereham Town on Saturday, September 17, for City’s FA Cup second qualifying round tie.

The cost will be £20 and it will depart from the Clarence Park entrance to the ground at 10.15am.
