Ben Martin is officially back at St Albans City.

Martin, who left St Albans for local rivals Boreham Wood last December, had refused a number of other offers in order to return and play in the yellow and blue.

The centre back had featured in City’s last two friendly games and impressed enough for joint managers James Gray and Graham Golds to offer the former captain a new deal.

Speaking to the Saints website, he said: “I’m delighted to return and look forward to a successful campaign. Obviously I know most of the lads which is good for me and, with the additions James and Graham have made, I feel we can improve on last season.”
