HERE are some other takeaways from the post-match interview with Graham Golds following St Albans City's 1-1 draw with Hitchin Town on Monday.
On Aryan Tajbakhsh’s 34th minute substitution following a yellow card for an off-the-ball incident with Hitchin Town captain Callum Donnelly.
“Aryan would be the first to put his hand up and say he wasn’t not having the best game,” he said.
“He was a bit agitated with his own performance and he got himself a yellow card for an off-the-ball-incident. Maybe he was lucky; I didn’t see it myself but it could have been worse.
“We don’t accept [off-the-ball incidents]; if he had got a red card then he’s let the whole team down.
“It was a tactical decision to get Ashe on and Azza has got to learn from it.”
On starting Chris Henry after two late goals in two games earned City wins against Banbury and Corby Town.
“We’ve had the conversation with Chris many times about when he comes off the bench. The opponent is tiring and he does have an impact on the game.
“That’s what he’ll be known as unless he can have an impact from the start of the game.”
He added: “We played him a bit differently today – up top with John Frendo – and gave him a licence to get around the park.
“We know what he’s about and when he comes on last in the game he changes the game. I don’t know whether that’s his mindset but he needs to look at that part of his game.”
On five City players – James Gray, Aryan Tajbakhsh, Ryan Wharton, John Frendo, Darren Locke – receiving yellow cards.
“I wouldn’t say it was a physical game; they didn’t mind putting a foot in either but it’s one of those things.
“I don’t mind taking bookings if we’re competing; that’s part of the game”
