St Albans City Reserves kicked off their season with a blistering start to their first league game of the season.

The Saints entered SSML Division Two for this season and opened the campaign with a 3-1 victory over Stony Stratford Town at Clarence Park.
City flew out of the blocks and broke the deadlock through Jordy Ndjeka. Myles-Jordan Senior-Campbell made a run down the left and sent in a pin-point cross for Ndjeka to poke home from three yards.
The one way traffic didn’t stop and more good play down the left eventually saw Oran Swales cut inside to stroke the ball into the far corner.
The game settled and Stony Stratford found some form, launching balls into the St Albans half, which eventually resulted in the striker lifting the ball over Tom McCleod, the St Albans City goalkeeper.
The two-goal cushion was soon restored as Alex Yearwood cut inside from the right and fired in the Saints’ third.
The half slowed thereafter and the superior passing and control of the home team was evident, although that same approach gifted Stony Stratford opportunities that weren’t taken.
The second half didn’t live up to the excitement of the first as neither team created much in the way of goalscoring chances as St Albans saw out a 3-1 victory.
