ST ALBANS City FC has pulled off the biggest signing of the pre-season, securing the signature of stiker John Frendo from Hitchin Town.
Frendo was the leading goalscorer in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division last season, netting 44 times in 48 games β enough to earn him the Golden Boot in the National Game Awards.
The 28-year-old arrives from Top Field where he scored 100 career goals, including three hat-tricks last season. He has previously featured for Ware, Chesham United and Cambridge City.
Joint manager James Gray said: βIt goes without saying that John will be a fantastic addition to the squad. We are delighted to have the leading goalscorer in non-league football in our team. He has superb technique and is an impressive signing for us.
