GOLF: ALDWICKBURY Park Golf Club’s Park Course played host to the inaugural APGC Society Texas Scramble.

Nine teams, made up from golfers who had booked society golf days at Aldwickbury Park last year, teed up in a bid to win the trophy, and it was the team from MK South Golf Society who stole the honours.

The team of John Armitt, Judy Armitt, Alan Rollings and Steve Smith scored a nett 57.5 to claim the inaugural event, which will become a permanent fixture alongside the Society Pairs Cup, for Aldwickbury Park, part of Burhill Golf & Leisure, the UK’s leading golf course owner and operator.

Simon Folbigg, Aldwickbury Park Golf Club Sales and Marketing Manager, said: “The Society Texas Scramble is our way of saying thank you to those golf societies from across the country for their continued support.

“This was the first time we have held the Society Texas Scramble and we were very pleased with the turnout. Everyone was extremely complimentary about the course, commenting on the condition of the course and the fact we had no temporary tees on greens, even at this time of year.”
