Radlett's on-fire batsmen picked up where they left off last week - as Radlett eased to a comfortable 178 run victory over Totteridge Millhillians.

Openers Jon-Jon Smuts and Frazer Crawford had put on a record stand of 257 for the first wicket in last Saturday’s win over Welwyn Garden City.

They fell 60 runs short of that figure this time round but unlike last week, both reached triple figures.

Crawford hit 121 off 120 balls while Smuts managed 104 off just 93 balls, a back-to-back century for the South African.

The stand was the first time both opening batsmen had hit a hundred in any first-team match in Radlett’s history.

But where these two ran amok, others found the strip was no batting paradise.

Only Tom Jenkins managed to stay long enough to push the score along with a rapid 46 not out.

In the end though Radlett still managed 347-7 from their 50 overs, the second highest total in a league game.

And with Randeep Sanghera’s pace removing three at the top end of the Totteridge order, all to catches by Jenkins at the wicket, it was more than enough to give Radlett the win.

The win keeps them top of the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Premier Division after staying undefeated in their opening five games.

Radlett 2nds were not so fortunate losing to Preston in Division 2A and there were also defeats for the 4ths and 5ths.

However, the 3rds were celebrating after a six-wicket win at Hitchin 2nds.
