Louie Theophanous 89th minute strike against Concord Rangers was enough to bring another three points for a rejuvanted St Albans City side.
The 2-1 win was the third on the bounce for Saints and the fourth in the last five games.
It means St Albans are currently third in the Vanarama National League South form table.
The success has changed the mood considerably at Clarence Park from one where relegation seemed a certainty.
And as our pictures, taken by photographers Bob Walkley and Leigh Page, show, the threat of the drop has been replaced by smiles and a belief they could yet pull off the unthinkable.
