HARPENDEN skipper Mike Emes and debutant Tom Ward found the net but Harpenden crashed to defeat at Ipswich in Premier A on Saturday.
The home side rattled in 10 goals but the consolation efforts from Emes and Ward will give Harpenden hope ahead of the home derby fixture with St Albans. The match starts at 1pm at Brache on Saturday.
l In the East League Division Two South West, Harpenden Ladies recorded a fine away win at Brentwood School.
Jo Frankish and Karen Lincoln scored the goals to secure the 2-1 success.
