St Albans City kept their fine league form going with a narrow 1-0 win at home to Eastbourne Borough.
Tom Bender’s first-half goal kept Saints in second place in Vanarama National League South, nine points ahead of leaders Maidenhead United.
It was City’s sixth league without a defeat and with a game in hand on the side above them, this Saturday’s trip to Margate, hopes are high at Clarence Park that they can continue their push for promotion into the new year.
Photographers Bob Walkley and Leigh Page were at the game on Saturday to capture the action.
City’s next game is tonight (Monday) when they travel to Boreham Wood in the Herts Senior Cup. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
