St Albans Striders had six runners post sub-two hour times at the Milton Keynes Winter Half Marathon.
Robin Forder led the team home in 1:28, followed by Paul Earnshaw (1:40), Shreyas Naik (1:40), Steve Kelly (1:41), Niamh O’Brien (1:42), Chris Aikman (1:48) and Frank Dalton (1:49).
Nairn McWilliams took third place at the GCR Festive Five in a time of 28:57 with Simon Frazer following closely in fourth with a time of 29:13. Martin Whitworth placed well with a time of 30:48. The first three ladies home were Wendy Walsh (2nd), Jen Conway and Lucy Martin. Jenna Pickering clocked 48:22.
Also this weekend was the SEAA Masters Cross Country Championships, where the combined efforts of Craig Dowie, Anthony Nicolson and Luke Hart placed the Striders in 17th place for race one. Colin Braybrook, Mark Travers and Martin Medforth placed 19th in race two. Deborah Steer and Wendy Walsh have provisionally placed 11th and 12th respectively for the Ladies Masters.
