SIMON Martin celebrated moving into City's top 20 all time appearance list with two goals in a 4-0 win over Fisher Athletic as they extended their unbeaten run to five games.

Things could have been very different for City had the hosts put away two glorious chances inside the first 11 minutes but thankfully the Fish strikers were off target and the visitors made them pay with four second half goals.

Again Solomon Shields excelled in midfield with his never-ending running putting constant pressure on the opposition and with Jonathan Hunt rolling back the years out on the left-wing there were always going to be plenty of opportunities for the visitors.

Steve Castle made only one change to the team that held AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night with Ben Martin coming into the side for the suspended Hector Mackie after Mackie was red-carded while playing for Haringey Borough in February.

The game was a real end-to-end affair at the start with Wayne Grant latching onto Cedric Abraham's long raking pass but with only Lee Butcher to beat Grant skewed his shot wide.

With eight minutes on the clock Hunt whipped in a cross that evaded the 'keeper but Paul Hakim couldn't steer the ball inside the post.

Another long ball out from the back by Marc Talbot got Carlton Murray-Price in behind the City defence but once again with only Tottenham-loanee Butcher to beat he shot wide.

Hakim continued to torment the Fish defence, shaking off his marker and getting to the by-line where he crossed for Hassan Sulaiman but the winger dragged his shot wide of the post.

The closest Fisher came to scoring was when Seb Schoburgh turned in the box and flashed his shot just wide of Butcher's far post.

Castle's men upped the tempo after the break and took the lead thirteen minutes after the interval.

Shields fed Sulaiman who breezed past the fullback and crossed to the far post giving Hunt a simple finish.

The traffic was now one-way.

Hunt slipped in Gary Cohen whose first effort was saved and then Stuart Robinson tipped his follow-up onto the bar.

City doubled their lead when Hunt whipped over a corner and Ben Martin guided the ball inside the far post for the skipper's fifth goal of the season.

Hakim had a shot deflected over the bar before Castle introduced Simon Martin and Adam Everitt.

Substitute Martin wasted no time in marking his 253rd appearance with a goal, collecting Hunt's pass and dinking the ball over Robinson.

City made it four two minutes from time when Martin headed home from James Fisher's cross to move City up to 11th in the Blue Square South table.

The result gives City their fifth clean sheet in a row and with Everitt and Ryan Frater returning to first team action, boss Castle will have a nice selection problem at the back.

Such has been the form of City's rearguard of late that their opposition have failed to register a shot on target in four and a half games, a run they'll be looking to continue when Newport County visit Clarence Park on Saturday.
