Shenley Village 288-7 (51) Clifton 140-10 (35)

SHENLEY Village beat Clifton on Saturday to continue their fine form in Division Three. Clifton surprisingly chose to field and Shenley opener Baqar Rizvi made them pay, hitting 60. Imran Yousaf and Jemile Al-Darraji both made half-centuries and Ryan Hammill (46) and Pasha Ali (40 not out) took Shenley to 288-7 off 51 overs declared.

Spinners Rizvi and Ali opened the Shenley bowling with the old ball which proved to be an inspired decision. Ali took 4 for 40 (including the unusual occurrence of a spinner breaking middle stump with one delivery) and Rizvi took one wicket but should have had more.

A smart run-out by Liam Willingham and wickets from Yousaf and Al-Darraji wrapped it up as Clifton were all out for 140. Shenley go away to Wheathampstead on Saturday for their final game of the season.
