CRICKET: CRICKETERS of all ages and abilities are welcome as Shenley Village Cricket Club holds its annual Club Registration Evening on Thursday, April 15.

The event will take place at the Shenley Cricket Centre, off Radlett Lane, from 6.30pm onwards.

With four Saturday teams playing in the Saracens Hertfordshire League, a Sunday side playing friendly games, a side entered into the Herts County Cup and a flourishing junior section, the club are inviting players of all ages and abilities, whether new to the game or seasoned campaigners, to come along and see what Shenley Village CC and its top quality ground has to offer.

The club will also be playing games at the new Napsbury Cricket Ground in London Colney.

An exciting season is in prospect. Shenley's First XI will, for the first time, sample life in Division Two of the Saracens Hertfordshire League, having been crowned Division Three champions last season.

Their overseas player will once again be 6ft 7ins tall St Lucian fast bowler Wendell Roberts, who last season took a record-breaking 72-wicket haul.

Meanwhile, the junior section will field teams at six different age groups and will aim to further build on the success of last year's U13s team, who finished proud winners of the County title. Teams at three other age groups also qualified for County Finals Day.
