Second place finishes for Striders’ men and women at Watford Half Marathon

St Albans Striders were contending strongly in the ever-popular Watford Half Marathon on Sunday.

There was a chilly wind but otherwise conditions were good. Striders’ men’s and women’s team both took second place.

Paul Adams finished eighth overall in 1:13:19, Blake Vivian 17th in 1:17:11, Steve Buckle 20th 1:17:21, Steve Cockrell 40th 1:20:04, Andy Auld 41st 1:20:21, Martin Whitworth 57th 1:21:27, Gary Warren 1:22:14 and Si Fraser 1:22:32. Graham Foster was fourth in the vet 50 category in 1:23:49. Claire Hallisey finished second lady in 1:18:36, Wendy Walsh was fourth vet 35 in 1:28:08, Claire Kremer sixth vet 35 in 1:31:35., Liz Mckie was fourth vet 45 in 1:33:06, Zoe Lowe seventh vet 45 in 1:37:20 and Deirdre Heydecker was first vet 55 in 1:43:42.

In the St Albans 5k, Parkrun Graham Smith was second in 17 minutes and Adam Dunajko was fourth in 18:04. Jen Conway was third lady in 20:18.
