St Albans City have no plans to recall James Kaloczi early from his loan.
The 19-year-old joined Wingate and Finchley on a two-month loan on November 14 and scored a day later in a 2-0 win over Canvey Island in the Ryman Premier Division. This is his second spell at the club having spent the first two months of the season at the Harry Abrahams Stadium.
Despite the centre-back having a recall agreement in his loan deal, and the departure of Ben Martin last week, joint manager James Gray said he doesn’t plan to bring Kaloczi back at the moment.
“He’s doing well at Wingate. He’s been playing in midfield but the manager has now moved him to centre-half so he’ll continue to learn his trade there, which will be invaluable for him.”
Gray added that City still have some depth at the position with Darren Locke, who has just returned from injury, Omar Beckles and loanee Ian Gayle - the club is trying to extend his deal by another month. He didn’t discount the possibility of bringing in a new defender.
