James Gray’s aim to win every competition is still alive after seeing his side maintain its 100 per cent cup record.
St Albans City have put together an impressive run in the FA Cup, reaching the fourth qualifying round – they travel to Chatham Town next Saturday and they beat Leighton in the Red Insure Cup on Wednesday night.
The run continued today with a 3-0 win over Witham Town in the FA Trophy, earning the club £2,700.
And once again it was City’s strike pairing of Mark Nwokeji and John Frendo that won the game. After both netting in the 2-1 win over Tonbridge Angels in the FA Cup, Nwokeji got the ball rolling before two second-half goals from Frendo sealed the win.
