St Albans City secured their place in the Vanarama Conference South despite a 2-1 loss to Bishop’s Stortford.
Simon Thomas headed the Saints into a first-half lead but it was cancelled out by Ricky Hayles. Greg Pearson scored the only goal of the second half as Stortford withstood waves of pressure from the visitors.
The result saw City drop to 17th in the table but they are safe from relegation after Farnborough lost 4-1 to Wealdstone.
The Saints welcome Eastbourne Borough to Clarence Park on Easter Monday.
