Herts Intermediate Cup First Round
Lemsford Reserves 1 St Peter's 4
ST Peter's recorded their first win in more than a month as they won 4-1 at Lemsford Reserves on Saturday.
Lemsford took the lead when they capitalised on a lack of confidence and belief that hindered the Saints in the early stages.
The visitors hit back to level just after the half hour mark when Craig Staughton crashed a fierce dipping shot into the top corner beating former Saint Johnny Shearer in goal for Lemsford.
The Saints took the lead after the interval when a stunning effort from Marlon Jones from 30 yards again gave Shearer no chance.
Substitute John Thompson scored a fine individual effort and Mark Savory netted his first goal of the campaign with a header following an excellent cross by Stuart Henderson.
Buoyed by their progress to Round Two, the Saints are back in league action on Saturday when they host fellow strugglers Bedwell Rangers with a 2pm kick off at Lemsford.
