ST Albans picked up their second win of the season as they handed out a first defeat of the campaign to Division One leaders Totteridge Millhillians on Saturday.

The Saints won the crucial toss and, after inserting the visitors at Clarence Park, bowled them out for 165 off 47.3 overs.

In reply, the hosts lost seven wickets but reached the target on 166 off 50 overs to secure an impressive win.

l St Albans II had to battle for a draw against Broxbourne after failing to take advantage of winning the toss at Broxbourne Sports Club in Division Three.

The home side scored 201-7 off their 53 overs and in reply St Albans managed 189-8 off 47 overs to close out for the draw.

l In Division Seven, St Albans III hit form to defeat hosts Old Finchleians II on a wet track and slow outfield on Saturday.

Having been put in, St Albans slumped to 21-4 before Michael Eames (20) and debutant Brad Newall (50) helped rescue the innings to a competitive 145 all out.

St Albans' bowling was varied but as the score rose the wickets fell at regular intervals, often to rash shots. Andrew Walker bagged 5-29 as Old Finchleians fell short, all out on 114. Guy Black (3-23) and Nick Kirwan (2-13) also impressed with the ball.
