Lee Chappell has been named as St Albans City’s captain for the 2015/16 season.

Chappell took over the armband from James Comley, who has been named vice captain, towards the end of last season following the midfielder’s suspension.

Joint manager Graham Golds told the club’s website: “We have a number of leaders in the side, which is what James [Gray, joint manager] and myself wanted going into the new campaign. Both Lee and James have led the team at various points over the past year and we felt it was important to utilise their experience and desire to take the team into this new season.

“It’s a great honour to be named captain of any side but especially so with a club like St Albans City. There have been some truly fantastic captains at Clarence Park and we’re hoping this appointment will continue in that great tradition.”
