Saints City Trust presented St Albans City club chairman Nick Archer with a cheque for £4,345 on Monday to fund pitch reinstatement works in the summer.

The money was raised through various fund raising schemes this season, including the raffle and golden goal, which was carried out by Trust members and volunteers

A Trust spokesman said: “Thanks to everyone who has supported our efforts throughout the season, and to the following volunteers who have assisted at home matches - Catherine Hieatt, Sarah Hilliard, Tess and Marina Ragusa, Ian Bangs, Phil Coombs, Clive Churchhouse, Liam and Dave Harrington, Barry Hilliard, Mick Holland, Karl Lockerby, Dave McLean, Duncan McLeod, Justin O’Reilly, Ian Rogers, Richard Rogers, Felix Treanor, John Worby and last, but by no means least, Richard Thompson.

“Richard has sold raffle tickets at the York Road end for the last several seasons will shortly be off to Australia for a year to work. Special thanks to Richard for his work on behalf of the Supporters’ Trust and the football.”
