Three Striders conquered the Sahara desert to finish the toughest foot race on earth over the weekend.
Anj Coia Bell, Sian Brice and Helen Durance completed the Marathon des Sables – a stage race covering 251km of the desert where competitors have to carry their own backpacks containing food, sleeping gear and other material.
Bell came 482nd in a time of 46hrs 37mins 04secs, Brice was 486th in 46hrs 45mins 10mins and Durance was 664th in 53hrs 58mins 33mins.
There were 917 finishers and a large number of competitors who dropped out at the end of the different stages.
