Striders Graham Smith and Graham Foster both achieved personal best times and age awards at the Sandy 10 mile race on Sunday.
Smith came 10th overall and third vet 40 in a time of 5 mins 42secs while Foster (61: 13) was 17th overall and second vet 50. Not far behind them was Nairn McWilliams in a time of 63mins 1secs.
Further afield Strider Pablo Plaza Lastras completed the Segovia Half Marathon in Spain in 1hr 34mins.
There was also a strong showing by the Striders at the St Albans Parkrun on Saturday. Jennifer Conway was first female in a time of 20mins 45secs and only just behind her was Jenny Maddocks in 20mins 50secs. Striders’ men took four out of the top 10 places with Stephen Buckle (17:58) second, Adam Dunajko fourth, Mark Taplin eighth and Edward Bailey 10th.
