Strider and St Albans AC member Andrew Maher won four bronze medals at the Herts County Athletics Championships on Saturday.

His medals came in the 400 metres hurdles, the 800 metres, the long jump and the javelin events.

On Sunday, Deirdre Heydecker completed the Edinburgh half marathon in 1r 39mins, Kathryn Hall finished Liverpool Marathon in 5hrs 1min and Steve Smith ran the Druridge Bay 10k in Northumberland, crossing the line in 41mins 56secs, good for 30th overall and second vet.

Closer to home at the BUPA London 10k, Blake Vivian (34:26) led the Striders contingent, followed by Graham Smith (35:54 with a PB), Wendy Walsh (40:46), Jennifer Conway (41:11), Ben Scott (41:36), Ian Hirth (45.21), Russell Sessions (48:58), Rose McGinness (52:46 with a PB), David Skyrme (58:05), Binh Tang (59:13) and Caroline Skyrme (1:00).

Also on Saturday a number of Striders including Carole Mooney, Claire Sharp, Carol Ransom, Lucy Stern and Michael Jack took part in the Welwyn Hatfield half marathon.
