Verulamians break the Bank to keep run going

Verulamians Rugby Club racked up their fourth successive Herts Middlesex One victory with a 34-5 win at Bank of England.
Two tries from Alex Ricci and one each from Tom Maile, Tim Rangihuna, Sam Allen and Sam Townsend keeps Vees fourth in the table.
Vees started where they had left off against Old Millhillians last week and were 12 points ahead within as many minutes.
Fly-half Maile carved through for the first and that was swiftly followed by Rangihuna sprinting on to a perfect line to score under the posts.
Backs and forwards ran riot at times and had the opposition mesmerised by their fluidity and persistent forward drives.
And although Bank of England clawed back an unconverted try, Vees make sure of a 12 point cushion at the break when Ricci found holes in the defence.
The second-half was more of the same with the visitors running in a further three, stylish tries.
Ricci grabbed his second, Allen, who was full of running all game, crossed for his try and he was denied a further score by the touch judge’s flag.
The final score came from some aggressive forward work by Sam Crowne and James Hayes, the latter managing to pop the ball to scorer Townsend despite having four tacklers hanging on to him.
Vees are next in action against Hillingdon Abbots at Cotlandswick on March 5.
