TWO flashes of brilliance from the lightning-fast Matthew Kemball-Cook secured a hard fought win against a strong Bishop's Stortford team at Cotlandswick on Sunday. On both occasions the full back broke through and outpaced the oppositions defence to score fine individual tries.

Aden Buchanan-Jones scored a further try after a strong drive from the base of a scrum to give Vees a 15-0 advantage at half time. However, the second half saw Bishop's Stortford raise their game and lay siege to the Vees line. Fine defensive work was required to limit Stortford to just one try, with Matthew Malley and Dreevesh Gooheram playing extremely well. Buchanan-Jones added another try after more strong running to complete the scoring for Vees.

It was a disciplined second half and Simon Cuzin and Dion Thomas led a determined forward effort, with Owen Diplock marshalling the three-quarter line to great effect.
