VEES let a 28-10 lead slip from their grasp in the last 20 minutes as Actonians snatched a draw.

Three first-half tries gave Vees a 23-10 half-time lead, with Darren Chopin, Dave Simpson and Chapman all touching down. Simpson added two penalties and a conversion to give Vees a big cushion despite Actonians scoring a converted try and a penalty of their own. Actonians grabbed another try but Simpson's second extended Vees lead. However, poor handling and decision making cost Vees dearly as the visitors scored two tries and two penalties to secure a draw.
