Old Albanian U17 unbeaten start to the season continued after a 17-14 League win at Bishop’s Stortford.

The win leaves them the top placed Hertfordshire side in the Herts Middx leagues and in a good position to regain the Division One title they won two years ago at U15.

Following their league win over pre-season favourites Harpenden, 17-10, earlier in the season they travelled to east Hertfordshire confident albeit a very difficult place to win.

Despite a number of injuries from the school games on the Saturday that led to some positional disruption, OA out-scored Bishop’s Stortford three tries to one with all of them coming from the back line. The side also showed great character defensively for the last 10 minutes, avoiding giving away a penalty in their own half that would have led to a draw.

Additionally, the B team also won their initial league fixtures and they are still looking for some new players to give depth to the age group over the winter months’.

With national and county cup competitions due to start shortly, any new players interested in joining can contact Graham Perrin on 07799 868001.
