Welwyn, Datchworth and Harpenden rugby clubs are all represented as England name their Red Roses squad for the three autumn internationals.

Zoe Harrison, Ellena Perry and Hannah Botterman have all come through the ranks at Welwyn, with Botterman having started her rugby journey with Datchworth.

And Harpenden’s Sarah McKenna, having returned to the 15-a-side game this season with Saracens having been part of England’s seven-a-side scene, is also included.

The 28-strong squad will face games against USA, Canada and Ireland with Allianz Park in Barney hosting the first of those on Friday, November 9.

Head coach Simon Middleton said: “As a group, we are really looking forward to getting the Quilter Internationals underway and performing to our maximum.

“We have made a number of changes within the squad, with 12 new faces named since the 2018 Six Nations and while there is a great feel of youthfulness, we have critically been able to retain a number of world-class performers from the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup, ensuring an essential balance of quality, youth and experience.”
