HARPENDEN Rovers faced undefeated league leaders Chipperfield Corithians and again manager Jim Nicholls could not select from his full squad.
Rovers got off to a horrendous start when after just three minutes a shocking piece of defending allowed Chipperfield an easy tap in. Fifteen minutes later Rovers made another mistake allowing Chipperfield to make it 2-0.
Rovers rallied after this and dominated the second period of the first half but spurned three gilt-edged chances. The game was effectively over straight after the interval when another piece of poor defending allowed Chipperfield to score the third. Rovers introduced debutant Chris Ellis who looked very sharp but with Rovers pushing for a goal, they were hit twice on the counter attack to finally go down 5-0.
