Old Albanian Rugby Club will start and finish the National One season with a game against Rosslyn Park – with Woollams getting the honour of hosting the opening day skirmish on September 2.

The newly-released fixtures for rugby’s third tier of competition in England also revealed that former player-coach James Shanahan will bring his new Blackheath charges to St Albans on February 3.

The two teams first clash in London on October 14.

Ampthill & District provide the first away trip of the season for OAs with the Bedfordshire club coming to Woollams two days before Christmas.

Albanian’s ginal home game of the term will be against Plymouth Albion on April 21.

New head coach Gavin Hogg has already said he is expecting a top-half finish for his new-look squad.

He said: “I’ve no reason to think we won’t show strongly in this company.”
