St Albans Artistic Roller Skating Club held its annual championships at Marlborough School.
Katie Smith was awarded the Jubilee Trophy for her dedication to the sport and for her achievements therein, leading to national level in all three disciplines (Figures, Free Skating and Solo Dance)
The STARS Trophy was awarded by the judges jointly to Gabriella Scalisi for her performance in the championships and Georgia Reid for her highly noticeable improvement since last year.
The other winners were: Gabriella Scalisi (Primary Figures and Free); Gracie Warren (Novice Figures and Free); Georgia Reid (Intermediate Figures and Free, Intermediate Solo Dance); Katie Smith (Senior Figures, Senior Solo Dance); Scarlett Stanley (Senior Free Skating, Free Dance); Jessie Fulton (Primary Solo Dance); Georgina; Fleming (Novice Solo Dance).
The club has a beginners’ session at Marlborough School on Tuesdays from 5-6pm. The price is £5 per skater. Classes finish on December 10 and re-opens on Tuesday January 7. For more information call 01727 830332 or e-mail maryrose.whiteley@ntlworld.com.
