CITY of St Albans Swimming Club kicked off their season with an impressive second place in the first round of the National Speedo League Division Two at Braintree.

Robbie Lightowler recorded a hat trick of race wins and St Albans picked up nine first places from 50 races, with 34 new personal bests set. Anne Marie DuPreez secured a first and second while Zac Horne, Charlotte Henson and Jack Baron also claimed race wins. City of St Albans finished second out of eight clubs, behind Edmonton.

There were a number of new faces in the Speedo squad, including Peter Hensman, Joseph Hensman, Alex Astley and Zac Horne.
