Striker becomes first recruit of the summer
ST ALBANS City boss David Howell has made his first signing of the summer with the acquisition of Rob Haworth.
The 35-year-old striker returns to the club from Tooting & Mitcham, 11 years after his last appearance in the gold and blue of the club. Haworth’s first spell at Clarence Park yielded 51 goals in 182 appearances before he left to join Dagenham & Redbridge.
Haworth has been training with the Saints in recent weeks and is set to feature in tonight’s (Monday) friendly with a QPR XI.
Meanwhile Saints striker Inih Effiong appeared for Farnborough in their pre-season friendly with Didcot.
