LOCAL tennis stars served up a glorious display at the Harpenden National Schools Girls Doubles tournament held earlier this month.
The tournament is open to all United Kingdom schools and Lauren Hewitt and Bethan Griffiths, from St Albans High School, won the 16 and Under event, beating Millfield School (from Somerset) 6-4, 6-2 in the final.
In the Plate Competition, Sir John Lawes players Jo Grant-Baisley and Katie Brill won the 16 and Under event and the 14 and Under event was won by Loreto College players Madeline Scanlan and Danielle Gilmartin.
