ST ALBANS Ladies had a day to forget as they lost 5-1 to Reading Ladies at Clarence Park.
Runaway leaders Reading took the lead in the fifth minute when Becky Odlin fired home from a penalty corner.
However, 17 minutes later St Albans equalised through a strike from Eleanor Bevan, her third goal of the campaign.
The sides were level for just 10 minutes before Reading scored two goals in as many minutes. First Clarie Kerr scored to restore the visitors' lead and then Clare Appleton extended their advantage.
Vicky Bryant's goal in the 55th minute effectively killed off any St Albans hopes of a revival and Odlin grabbed her second to complete the scoring.
