Radlett beat Potters Bar by 50 runs to record their first league win in six and stay top of the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Premier Division.

The win at The Walk, as the teams returned to the 50-overs a side format, keeps the champions 11 points ahead of Welwyn Garden City in second with just three games remaining in the regular season.

Radlett won the toss and, electing to bat, they set off in confident fashion.

Fraser Crawford looked in his usual good form and along with William Wright they put on 45 for the first wicket before Wright fell to a beauty from Mitchell Phelps.

Crawford would go on to make 56 but when he was caught by Liam Gough off Adil Zareef, Radlett were at 124-3.

Bar’s spinners bowled really well and started to strangle the league champions.

And thanks to Zareef and Thilan Walallawita, they reduced Radlett to 170-7, putting themselves in with a great shout.

However, the visitors had a productive final few overs and managed to clamber up to 214-9 by the close of their innings.

Potters Bar’s reply started solidly and Radlett weren’t helped when Randeep Sanghera came out of the attack with a side strain.

Ben Lederman got the wicket of James Scott for 10 and Kabir Toor, Fakir Dungaria and Rob Clements also struck at regular intervals as Potters moved onto 107-5.

And although Sergio Fedee was batting really well, the arrival of Maaz Sheth into the Radlett attack spelt the beginning of the end.

He cleared up the tail, finishing on 4-21, with the last three wickets falling in just four balls.

Clements chipped in with second best bowling figures of 2-37.

Radlett will face Hertford on Saturday at Cobden Hill, knowing victory will confirm their place in the end of season play-offs.
