Radlett 2s got off to winnings ways in Saracens Herts Division 2a with a 57-run victory at Old Owens.

Electing to bat first, Dan Foster’s side posted a competitive 188, with 46 from Jonny Armitage and 37 from Hemal Malde the highest scores of the innings.

Bowling has always been the sides strongest area and they proved it once again by controlling the Old Owens innings from ball one. Good opening spells from Ross Carpenter and Malde put the pressure firmly on Owens.

This didn’t change through the innings as the impressive Simeon Cohen, who is returning from 18 months out of the game, looked like he had never been away and, bowling in tandem with Michael Lee, pushed the run rate up to six an over with 25 overs left in the game.

It was to be the captain’s day, though, as he celebrated his 26th birthday with figures of 6-14.
