SAM Little shot an amazing final round of 67 at the Castelló Masters Costa Azahar in Spain to retain his player's card on the European Tour.

Little's impressive 67 equalled the winning round of Sergio Garcia and he finished tied 15th in the event on 10 under par. The former Herts champion opened with a 72 and then hit 69, 66 and 67 for a 274 total, 10 shots back from Garcia. The stunning display placed Little 112th in the order of the merit as, for the second year, running his display in his final event secured his card. Little said: "Putting has let me down this season but this performance has given me the confidence to look forward to better times next year. Knowing it all depended on the final event made it a testing time, but making the cut was all important and took some of the pressure off. After that I really played well, picking up five birdies on each of the last two days. I had struggled this season with my putting, at one time missing six cuts out of seven events, but it all came together when it was needed. Now I feel confident about next season."

In 2006 he finished 122nd to lose his card, but made his comeback with 12th place in the final qualifying school and in 2005 he claimed the last place at 116th.

Former Herts champion David Griffiths shot 67, 71, 70 and 71 to tie for 40th in the event in Spain with a total of 279. He finished 181st in the order of merit and will need to go back to the qualifying school if he wants to regain his card.
