SHE admitted to feeling a “bit shaky” after seeing her 12 year old daughter carry the Olympic flame through St Albans, but Mandy Gallaher also described herself as a “very proud mum”.

Her daughter, Hannah, was the youngest to carry the torch through the city today.

She was one of 14 to take part in the relay, cheered on by hundreds of supporters at the changeover near Oakwood Drive on Hatfield Road.

Hannah was nominated as, according to her P.E teacher at Princess Helena College, Sarah Robertson, the Year 7 pupil is a talented girl, particularly when playing sports.

Mandy said: “I’m very proud; it’s absolutely fantastic. I’m still a little shaky.”
