St Albans men finished second in their England Super Sixes indoor hockey league – giving them promotion to Division One next year.
Despite handing Harleston Magpies their only defeat of the round-robin tournament in Bristol, Saints ended just behind the Suffolk outfit.
Victories over Fareham (6-5) and Ashmoor (8-4) were countered by defeats to Bournville (4-3) and Cheltenham (4-2).

The club had further success with their mixed outdoor team who beat Essex University 15-0 in the first round of the Mixed Cup on Sunday.
There were hat-tricks for Andy Tyler and Josh Rose; Hayley Payne, Scott Apps and Maddie Davies scored twice each with Emily Panniers, Simon Clapham and Ranjit Sehmbi grabbed the others.
