Old Albanian coach Andy Holloway has mixed emotions about his side’s extended break this week.

This weekend is one of three in the season left free by the league to give sides a chance to catch-up on any postponements, something OAs have not been able to do as their only postponed fixture came against Cinderford who have already got a game booked in.

“It gives some of the lads who’ve got a few niggles a chance,” said Holloway.

“We went into the last game with a couple of guys who were fit to play but we would probably have rather given them an extra week so this is a week off and we won’t be training.”

On the flip-side of that for Holloway and his players is the desire to get back onto the field as soon as possible following the defeat to Richmond last week.

“I’d already said to the lads we’d have a week off this week so it’s frustrating when you lose and have a week off because you want to put it right straight away.

“But we’ll come back fresh on Tuesday and throw ourselves into everything to try and get the right result against Henley and get us back to climbing up the table.”

OAs triumphed 17-10 in Henley back in November, but Holloway is wary of the threat that the Oxfordshire side will pose when the two meet at Woollams on March 1.

“They’ll come with a huge amount to play for, they’re one of the sides just teetering above the relegation zone and also they’re a decent side,” said the 35-year-old.

“I think when we played them previously the conditions didn’t favour either side so it was quite a tight game where they had most of the ball and we did most of the defending.

“So we know they’ll come and they wont kick a great deal, they’ll run the ball a lot and it’ll be tough but we’ve got to get things right and if we’re not as wasteful with the ball and we take our chances then we’re confident we can do well.”
