Hatfield Town beat Harpenden Town 3 - 1 in a tough Tuesday night fixture in Rothamsted Park.

The visitors went two up in the first half and scored again early in the second.

Harpenden had spells when they had the best of the play and could have equalised but for several good saves from the Hatfield captain Allan Buck. Jack Cartwright scored a consolation goal for Harpenden after a clearance from a cross fell to his feet and he blasted the ball in from six yards.

Manager Danny Plumb said: “I am disappointed after a great result on Saturday. We didn’t take our chances and Hatfield are a good side but we will bounce back.”
