GOALS from Andy Findlay and Lee Shackell helped Park Street Village win at Evergreen on Saturday to secure a place in the Aubrey Cup final.

Lee Woodruff set the tone early on with a crunching tackle rewarded with a yellow card. The effort and work rate from the PSV side impressed the manager and his side took the lead just before half time. Thompson said: "Lee Woodruff went in strongly and the game seemed to liven up from there. We had a few chances and scored when Lee Shackell broke away and found Andy Murphy. He ran across the box and his shot was parried out wide by the goalkeeper for Andy Findlay to tap home at the back post."
In the second half, PSV took control of the tie and sealed the win when Shackell prodded the ball home after a couple of ricochets in the area. Manager Thompson was delighted with his side. He said: "Tony Kerby our goalkeeper had two good saves. One of them was an absolute cracker. Andy Findlay showed a brilliant attitude in attack and Andy Murphy's work rate up front was unbelievable. He was closing down and harrying defenders into mistakes. Andy Ruck played his first full game after a bad injury and it was good to have him back. Tommy Burns was awesome in the midfield holding role. He made everything simple for us. Everyone did well."

The 2-0 victory sets up a final place on Monday, May 5, at the County Ground, Letchworth, against Bovingdon who upset the odds to knock out Premier Division title chasers Hatfield Town. Thompson is now eyeing a top-three place in the league and a win against Bovingdon to crown a remarkable campaign. He said: "Bovingdon are our bogey side. We have beaten Hatfield this season but we played Bovingdon four times last season and didn't beat them. Places in the cup final are up for grabs now and it will be interesting. We have to put some performances in to get us third."
Park Street Village return to league action when they host Buntingford Town with a 3pm kick off at Toulmin Drive on Saturday.
