Old Albanians failed to take the final three wickets and had to settle for a draw against Radlett 2nds.
Having made 223 thanks to Chris Dobson’s 74, OAs took the first five wickets for under 70 runs but they were frustrated by an unbeaten 67 from Hemal Malde as Radlett closed on 168-7.
Mozammel Hayat won the toss and opted to bat first, a decision that back-fired spectacularly early on as Alex Goldstone (3), Joe Regan (2) and Jack Reynolds (0) failed to stick around.
Zahid Khan (38) and Usman Malik (19) steadied the ship and took the run tally to 62 before the former was caught. Malik followed soon after and when Hayat was out for a duck, OAs were staring down the barrel.
However, the seventh-wicket pair of Dobson and Ghulam Rasool took the score from 85-6 to 160-7. The 60-run partnership was broken when Rasool was clean bowled for 29.
Number nine Tom Lincoln smashed a quick-fire 41 to help OAs post 223 in their allotted 53 overs.
With 47 overs to bowl out Radlett, OAs set about the task. Rasool had opener Josh Charles run out for a duck and Naseer Ahmed bowled Johnny Armitage for 18.
Nikhil Rawal (8) was next to go, caught by Rasool of Sagir Ahmed, before Neel Malde became the fourth wicket to fall. That brought Hemal Malde to the crease and in a 101-ball stay, he manage to steer Radlett to a draw and 15 points.
Naseer Ahmed (3-38) was the pick of the bowlers, just ahead of his brother Sagir (2-31) and Hayat (1-21).
