Old Albanian produced an almost faultless performance as they notched a half-century of points against Chinnor.

The Woollams-based rugby club ran in eight tries on Saturday, four in each half, lifting them above Clifton and into third in the National League Two South.

The result was a just reflection of the overwhelming power the visitors brought to bear on a courageous Chinnor side, who had no real answer to the speed and ferocity of this adventurous OA side.

Albanians started on fire. Harry Bate opened the scoring with moments gone and Jimmy Speirs showed great pace when he crossed the line 10 minutes in.

The industrious Bate scored again after continued Albanian pressure and Max Malins added the extras.

Chinnor did have their moments and from one they opened their account. A well-worked move from a line-out saw George Blewitt neatly stepping back inside the Albanian defence to score.

Will Millet turned it into a seven-point haul with the conversion.

But it was a rare break from the relentless pressure applied by OAs, who grabbed the bonus-point try through Matt Gallagher as half-time approached.

Malins’ conversion brought the score at the break to 24-7.

The second half continued in the same vein as the first with no change in Albanian dominance other than at the scrum, where Chinnor offered plenty of resistance.

Regular breaks saw tries for Malins, Morgan Thompson, against his former club, and skipper Billy Johnson.

Sam Lunnon completed the scoring for the visitors when he touched down a pushover try with two minutes left.

It was not the end of the scoring however as Jack Adams brought the match to a close with a second try for brave Chinnor, converted by Millet.

This was Albanians at their best and a performance full of urgency and precision left very few opportunities unexplored.

Redruth come to Woollams this weekend on the back of a 23-17 success at Dorking, one of five victories to date.

They will ensure a testing examination of this developing OA side.

Kick-off is at 2pm.
