Oaklands Wolves strengthened their WBBL play-off claims after a tough weekend that saw them play two games in two days.
It started with a 63-49 win at home to Caledonia Pride on Saturday, a game that saw a poor third quarter bring the Scottish outfit back into in, only for Beth Sarson land 10 of her 12 points in the first four minutes of the final period and clinch the win.
Sunday’s game took them to unbeaten leaders Sevenoaks Suns and for the most part they were in the game, apart from a poor second period which saw them score just six points.
Head coach Lee Ryan said: “We knew we had the team to win over Caledonia but they give you nothing. It wasn’t a classic but the team fought and had enough quality to come through.
“Sevenoaks have quality and are undefeated for a reason but our style causes them problems and we saw that throughout the game.
“I was disappointed in our execution in the second quarter.
“That’s something we have to improve on if we are to beat the top teams.”
