Oaklands Wolves have made the end of season play-offs in the WBBL for the first time since their formation three years ago – and head coach Lee Ryan believes they still have a few surprises up their sleeves.

A 77-60 win away to Essex Rebels means Wolves are the eighth and final team to make the post-season games and their reward will be a trip to undefeated leaders Sevenoaks Suns.

Meg Pritchard top-scored against the Rebels with 13 while Anneke Schluter chipped in with 12 and Tia Freeman 11th.

Ryan said: “The team set this goal and have worked relentlessly to achieve it. We still have a couple of weeks to get ready to give a good showing in the first roundbut we have the style and team to get the upset.

“I feel confident we can give ourselves a chance of taking Sevenoaks down but they have obviously quality and pedigree. We will have to be at our best.”

First up though is a final league match at home to Durham Palatinates on Saturday.
