PREMIER DIVISION

AFC Rangers were unlucky to come away from Nicholas Breakspear OB with no points, losing 5-3. Chris Cutmore (two) and Piaras Lysaght scored for Rangers.

DIVISION ONE

Goals in the first half by Aaron Clarke and Luke Ossorio saw Six Bells take a 2-0 lead against Precision. The second half saw much pressure from Precision which resulted in them reducing the deficit with 10 minutes to go, but Bells defended well for a 2-1 win. A good team performance by the Bells.

Brookmans Park edged ahead against Potters Bar through Drew Botterman, but two goals including a last minute winner gave Bar the points with Bill Jones and Ciaran Vieyra scoring.

Skew Bridge Res entertained Chequers in their first home fixture and just edged it and were unlucky not to be leading at the break. Skew started the second half brightly and looked like the team more likely to score first, but it wasn’t until midway through the half before a Matty Richardson corner and James Hardy header caused confusion in the chequers defence.

Six yard box predator Chris Gregory then steered a header past the keeper. Skew kept up the pressure on Chequers’ defence before the move of the match was calmly finished by substitute Steve Allen. With 20 minutes left Chequers didn’t fold and after a series of near misses from Skew, their goalkeeper-come-striker pulled a goal back.

DIVISION TWO

Pennine Spartans recorded their first win of the season against Herts Athletic 7-0. An early goal from Myer Fuller put them in control of the game before a quick fire double from Jamie France.

More followed in the second half, with goals from Stephen Coles, Craig Meddeman, Mat Durrant and a second from Fuller completed the scoring.

An inspired performance by Dean Skipsey, including a goal, along with a Lee Sturgess single saw Blacksmiths Arms defeat new boys Garston 2-1.

Brookmans Park Res won 3-1 against Cannon with two goals from Joe Cullum and a Simon White single. Paul Dennis replied for Cannon.

Top goalscorers of the day were Vision Res who overcame Herts Mauritian 9-0 with goals from Adam Wallace 3, Pat Dramani (2), Roland Amponsem, Amine Ghoul, Humair Khan and William Nugent.

DIVISION FOUR

After a shakey start to Division Four Wheathampstead Crown showed they mean business by beating injury-hit Affinity 6-2. With a hat-trick coming from Adam Facer, singles from Jason Slough and Ryan Laffoley plus a 40-yard screamer from Micheal Ross. A great team effort all around was too much for Affinity. Ben Conrad scored both Affinity goals.

Brookmans Park A team were 3-0 down at the break to AFC Welwyn. A Gary Prime 35-yard screamer and a goal from new signing Redmond Lee got them back into the game but they could not find the equaliser.

Anthony Maher scored a hat-trick and star man Sam Bignall added a single as Oaks defeated The Snug Bar 4-2.

DIVISION FIVE

George Redbourn were in total control against AFC Mymms and ran out 3-0 deserved winners. Goals came from Marco Capontes, Liam Picton and the outstanding Aaron Goldsmith.
